The Paths of Jesus
Bible Passage:
Jesus Calms the Storm
"Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm."
— Matthew 8:26
Summary:
One day, Jesus and His disciples were crossing the sea in a boat when a great storm arose. The waves were strong, and the disciples became afraid. Jesus, however, remained at peace. Seeing their distress, He stood up and commanded the winds and the sea to be still. Immediately, everything became calm, and the disciples marveled at His power and presence.
Reflection:
Just as the disciples faced a storm, we also experience moments of difficulty, uncertainty, and worry. At times, the waves of life seem too strong for us to bear. Yet Jesus reminds us that we are not alone in the boat. When we trust in Him, we can find peace even in the midst of our storms, for His presence is greater than any fear.
Lesson for the Day:
Whenever your heart is troubled, remember that Jesus still calms storms. Trust, have faith, and place your concerns in the Lord's hands. Calm will come in God's perfect time, and every storm passes under His loving care.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, in moments of fear and distress, help us remember that You are with us. Calm the storms within our hearts, strengthen our faith, and teach us to trust in Your love and Your plans. May we never lose hope and may we find in You the peace that the world cannot give. Amen.
