📖 Revelation 18 – The Fall of Babylon

Summary
Chapter 18 of Revelation describes the fall of Babylon, a symbol of a world marked by injustice, greed, corruption, and separation from God. Kings, merchants, and all who benefited from her wealth mourn her destruction because they had placed their trust in temporary things. In the midst of this, God calls His people to turn away from sin and remain faithful, reminding them that only His Kingdom is eternal.
Reflection
Many times, "Babylon" can also represent everything that tries to draw us away from God's values: excessive pride, limitless ambition, selfishness, and the illusions of this world. The Lord invites us to live differently, with humble, righteous, and loving hearts.
Nothing in this world lasts forever. Wealth fades, human power disappears, and appearances pass away. But those who remain in God find a treasure that cannot be destroyed: peace, hope, and eternal life.
Teaching
God teaches us not to build our lives upon what is temporary, but upon faith, truth, and righteousness. We should examine our hearts and ask ourselves: Where have I placed my trust? In the things of this world or in the presence of God?
The Lord's call still echoes today: "Come out of her, my people." It is an invitation to leave behind everything that separates us from His light and to choose the path of obedience and love.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, in Your infinite mercy, help us not to be deceived by the illusions of this world. Grant us wisdom to discern what is good and courage to turn away from everything that distances us from You.
Purify our hearts, strengthen our faith, and teach us to live according to Your will. May our trust rest in Your love and in Your eternal Kingdom, and may we be instruments of peace, justice, and hope wherever we go.
