A Prayer of Padre Pio
Today I share this prayer of Padre Pio in gratitude and in fulfillment of a promise. May these words strengthen the faith of everyone who reads them and draw us ever closer to the love of Jesus.
Stay with Me, Lord
Stay with me, Lord, because I need Your presence so that I do not forget You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need Your strength so that I may not fall.
Stay with me, Lord, because You are my life, and without You I lose my fervor.
Stay with me, Lord, because You are my light, and without You everything becomes darkness.
Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your holy will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I may hear Your voice and follow You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I desire to love You more and more and to remain always in Your company.
Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.
Stay with me, Jesus, because although my soul is poor, it longs to be for You a place of consolation and a dwelling of love.
Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is drawing to a close. Life passes, death, judgment, and eternity draw near. I need to renew my strength so that I do not stop along the way, and for that, I need You.
Stay with me, Lord, now and forever. Amen.
Reflection
Padre Pio teaches us that true strength is found in remaining close to Christ. When we invite Jesus to stay with us, we discover peace in times of trial, hope in moments of uncertainty, and love that never fades. Every prayer is an opportunity to deepen our faith and to walk each day with confidence in God's unfailing presence.
