📖 Paths of the Word — Revelation 10
Summary:
In this chapter, John sees a mighty angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head, a face shining like the sun, and legs like pillars of fire. In his hand is a small open scroll.
The angel places one foot on the sea and the other on the land, showing authority over all creation, and cries out with a powerful voice. John hears the voices of seven thunders, but he is instructed not to write what they said.
Then the angel declares that there will be no more delay: God’s plan will move forward to fulfillment.
John is commanded to take the small scroll and eat it. In his mouth it is sweet like honey, but in his stomach it becomes bitter.
Teaching:
Revelation 10 reminds us that God’s Word is sweet because it brings truth, hope, and revelation, but it can also be bitter because it requires responsibility, transformation, and courage.
Following God’s path does not mean only receiving pleasant promises — it also means accepting difficult missions, deep changes, and the responsibility to live by truth.
Like John, we often receive words from God that comfort us, but also call us into challenge.
Reflection:
Not every divine message comes only to comfort; some come to transform.
The sweetness is in knowing God.
The bitterness may be in the process of obeying.
But every Word from the Lord produces purpose.
Today, remember:
God is still speaking, revealing, and preparing those who remain faithful.
Even when the journey feels intense, God’s voice remains sovereign over the earth, the sea, and every storm.
May you have the courage to receive not only God’s sweet promises, but also the strength to live the deeper purposes He has prepared for your life. 🌿✨
